Who We Are
Vintage Food is a culinary journey through Turkey and Eastern Europe, where food is a reflection of culture, comfort, and tradition. What began in 1992 as a small specialty shop in Brooklyn has grown into one of the most trusted importers and distributors of authentic Turkish and Eastern European products in North America.
Founded by Levent Demirgil, Vintage Food started by serving local communities with carefully sourced ethnic staples. Over the years, it expanded from a neighborhood store to a full-scale wholesale operation, growing from a modest 5,000-square-foot space to a 30,000-square-foot warehouse in New Jersey. With the 2001 launch of its halal meat brand, MERVE, and the 2023 acquisition by Ziyad Brothers Importing, Vintage Food entered a new era, bringing more than 3,000 products to homes and retailers across the U.S. and Canada.
From dairy and frozen goods to teas, coffees, and pantry staples, every product tells a story of recipes passed down, of family gatherings, and of culinary traditions that span generations.
