The Sahadi family first began importing specialty foods to America through the port of Manhattan, later opening the original Sahadi’s storefront in Brooklyn’s “Little Syria” neighborhood. In 1941, the business moved to Atlantic Avenue, where it has remained a cornerstone of the Brooklyn community ever since. Today, the grocery stores remain under the leadership of Ron Sahadi and his daughter Christine, fourth and fifth-generation grocers. Sahadi’s continues to honor its legacy while evolving to meet the tastes of a new generation.
